With increasing intensities of fires upon us, Sonoma County’s wine and agricultural sectors are under pressure to save crops and livestock from fire and smoke in evacuation zones. However, it is the farmworker who is called and ordered to work behind these evacuation lines while the fires burn near.  Join us to hear the first hand perspective of a local farmworker who bears the burden of these conflicting pressures. We will follow this with our distinguished panel who will offer insight into the pressing questions our community needs to ask about workers behind the line:  Who is responsible for ensuring the health and safety of our farmworkers? What safety measures are in place to protect those who are most vulnerable? Who decides when and where a farmworker can go to work during fires?

And how can we make a difference? To begin this important community conversation, we are honored to be joined by our distinguished panel:
