Herman G. Hernández

Board member since

Herman G. Hernández is a public servant and community advocate committed to advancing equity, representation, and belonging across Sonoma County. Grounded in respect, service, diversity, discipline, and positivity, he builds bridges across communities and fosters inclusive leadership.

As Executive Director of Los Cien Sonoma County, Herman leads efforts to elevate Latino voices and create space for honest dialogue about the region’s most pressing issues. Under his leadership, Los Cien launched the BRIDGE Program (Building Representation, Inclusion, Diversity, and Governance Excellence), which prepares Latinx and underrepresented leaders to serve on nonprofit boards and public commissions.

In addition to his professional work, Herman is an elected Trustee on the Sonoma County Board of Education and sits on the boards of the Made in Santa Rosa Foundation and the Sonoma County Family YMCA.

A first-generation college graduate, Herman has been honored with several awards for his leadership and service, but remains most proud of helping build stronger, more inclusive communities. He finds joy in mentoring others and spending time with his wife Ariana, daughter Nina Gabriela, and dog Moose – often outdoors, enjoying the beauty of Sonoma County.
